About Dana Duggan and Seaport Swimwear

Dana Duggan, Owner and Design Director of Seaport Swimwear, has been sewing since the age of 13. Inspired by both her father and great uncle, who worked as menswear designers in New York, she discovered early on that fashion design would become her lifelong career path. 

Dana studied fashion design at Parsons School of Design in New York and at Massachusetts College of Art and Design in Boston. She also earned an Associate’s Degree in Fashion Merchandising from Fisher College and studied Industrial Design under a Merit Scholarship at Wentworth Institute of Technology.

Her professional career includes working as an Apparel Designer for Reebok International, where she helped co-design the company’s first girls’ swimwear line in 1998. Since then, Dana has continued designing and manufacturing swimwear under her own brands, including Bikini Hut, South Shore Swimwear, and Seaport Swimwear.

In addition to her independent labels, she also manufactured swimwear for Dow Chemical Company, the producer of the Lycra brand.

Dana grew up in Scituate, a quintessential New England town with a close-knit beach, boating, and fishing community that strongly influenced her design style and inspired her to specialize in swimwear design and manufacturing.

Today, Seaport Swimwear focuses on luxury swimwear crafted with sustainable fabrics, eco-friendly manufacturing practices, and refined attention to detail. The brand offers ready-to-wear collections, custom-made swimwear services, and private label manufacturing for emerging and established designers.

Every swimsuit is designed and produced at Seaport Swimwear’s headquarters in Boston.  Dana currently lives in Dorchester, Massachusetts, with her beloved pitbull, Jack, where she continues to combine craftsmanship, sustainability and timeless coastal inspirations in every collection she creates.
